It’s all about the journey. That’s how Dr. Barnes feels. Sure, he looks forward to the day when your smile is as beautiful as you’ve envisioned. But along the way, he looks forward to working with you and creating a welcoming and exciting orthodontic journey. Dr. Barnes looks at each patient individually – designing a treatment plan for you that takes full advantage of current technologies and making sure you are confident and happy with the treatment. Not everyone is the same. Each patient deserves pin-point treatment to provide the best results possible. And Dr. Barnes can’t wait to work with you so you can show your smile off to everyone you meet!

Dr Barnes’ experience is diverse and broad. Even before starting his dental career, Dr. Barnes gained a clinical research background from The University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and the Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. He’s uniquely qualified in solving problems. Currently, Dr. Barnes is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists (MASO), and the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Barnes keeps up with current technology by attending conferences, talking with other orthodontists about their practice and their discoveries. He has joined various dental societies and regularly takes advantage of continuing education opportunities.

PERSONAL LIFE

Dr. Barnes knows the area! He grew up in Ellicott City, attended Centennial High School and participated in local sports – playing soccer and lacrosse. He’s from a big family, having 4 brothers and a sister. His dad often coached Dr. Barnes’ team – while his mom cheered from the sidelines! Dr. Barnes enjoys the outdoors and can frequently be found hiking, skiing, crabbing, fishing and kayaking. And with his Maryland roots, he’s a big supporter of the Maryland Terps – no matter the sport!
